The two violins are copies of an instrument attributed to Ventura Linarol (Venice 1581) from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, made by Martin Bowers, Maldon, Essex.

The ‘gedackt’ bass dulcian is a copy of the anonymous instrument MU 30 (seventeenth century) in the Oberösterreichisches Landesmuseum in Linz, made by A. Eric Moulder, Leek, Staffordshire.

The dynamic young chamber group Apollo & Pan was formed in 1993 by Tassilo Erhardt, Sally Holman and Steven Devine and features the combination of violin, bassoon and keyboard. The group won the International Early Music Network Young Artists’ Competition in 2001. Apollo & Pan here performs works by Castello, Merula, Marini, Bertoli, Frescobaldi, Rossi and Turini. The group regularly performs at regional music festivals as well as at the South Bank Early Music Festival and the York Early Music Festival.
