The vivid baroque colours of Florilegium – Ashley Solomon (flute), Simon Jones (violin), Jon Rees (cello), David Miller (theorbo), Steven Devine (harpsichord) – set wonderful instrumental music by Handel in the splendour of its Italian influences. Trio sonatas and a quartet by Handel are performed alongside beautiful sonatas by Sammartini and Scarlatti, and music by Italian émigrés Barsanti and Geminiani.
